About the name….
This site has nothing to do with trains, but it has occured to me over the last decade that a long stretch of Brunel’s famous Great Western Railway does map out a part of England that I am particularly close to. From Reading in Berkshire, through to Didcot (and nearby Abingdon & Wantage), passing under the A417 from Wantage to Stanford in the Vale – a road that I have driven many, many times – and then on to Swindon, past the legendary White Horse of Uffington.
The line then meanders on to Chippenham, Bath (via Corsham – just at the end of our road) and finally on to Bristol, and Brunel’s Temple Meads Station. The final glory is Brunel’s iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. Wonderful countryside all the way, but more importantly, some great family and friends dwell here too. Great memories, and more memories in the making…
This site is dedicated to all the people who have made life around here such a great blessing.
Welcome to Great Western country!
